Objective We observed the TCM syndrome integral, the LEE scores,Minnesota, heart function,NT-proBNP, left ventricular ejectionfraction and hs-CRP,to make sure the effect of Shenfu Injectionon patients with heart failure and investigate its possiblemechanism. Methods The subjects were from the patients with chronic heartfailure in the department of Cardiology of Wuhan first hospital. We selected60patients met the inclusion criteria, and divided into the treatment group and control group with30cases in each. The differences in ages, sex, primary diseases and heart function of the two groups were not statistically significant. So,they were comparable. The control group was treated with conventional western medicine treatment, while the treatment group was treated with conventional western medicine treatment andShenfu injection. The observation time was10days.We observedthe differences of TCM syndrome integral, the LEE scores, Minnesota, heart function,NT-proBNP, left ventricular ejection fraction and hs-CRP before and after treatment.Results1.TCM syndrome integral:in the treatment group5casesreached the excellence standard,19cases the effective standard,6cases ineffective, no serious cases,so the total efficiencyis80%;in control group3cases achieved the excellence standard,16cases the effective standard,11cases ineffective, no serious cases, the total efficiency of63.3%. There was a significant difference between the two groups (P <0.05).2.The LEE scores:the scores of the treatment group,3cas es reached the excellence standard,24cases the effective standard,3cases ineffective, no serious cases, the total efficiency of90%;in control group,2cases achieved the excellence standard,22cases effective standard,6cases ineffective, no serious cases, the total efficiency of80%. There was a significant difference betweenthe two groups (P <0.05).3.Minnesota: the scores of the treatment group,6cases reached the excellence standard,21cases the effective standard,3cases ineffective, no serious cases, the total efficiency of90%;in control group,4cases achieved the excellence standard,20cases effective standard,6cases ineffective, no serious cases, the total efficiency of80%. There was a significant difference between the two groups (P <0.05).4.Heart function:before treatment, there was no significant difference between the distributions of all levels of heart function in the two groups. After treatment,in the treatment group,15cases achieved the excellence standard,13cases effec tive standard,2cases ineffective, no serious cases, the totalefficiency of93.33%;in the control group,13cases achieved the excellence standard,12cases the effective standard,5casesineffective, no serious cases, the total efficiency of83.33%.There was a significant difference between the two groups (P <0.05).5.Hs-CRP: in the treatment group it decreased from (5.07±1.09)mg/L to (2.87±0.93)mg/L,while in the control group,it decreased from (5.11±1.01)mg/L to (3.74±1.13)mg/L. After treatment, the hs-CRP contents of the two group were significantly lower than that before treatment (P<0.05);There was asignificant difference betweenthe two groups (P <0.05).6.NT-proBNP: inthe treatment group,NT-proBNP content decreased from (2106.44±311.24) pg/ml to (1115.96±143.65)pg/ml.there was a significant difference in the gruop(P<0.05); in thecontrol group it decreased from (2005.11±251.01)pg/ml to (1393.74±220.26)pg/ml.There was a significant difference in the gruo p(P<0.05). There was a significant difference between the two groups (P<0.05).7.Ejection fraction:in the treatment group,it increased from (33.1±1.07)%to (42.7±0.93)%,while in the control group itincreased from (34.8±1.05)%to (41.4±0.96)%. A statistically significant difference existed in each group before and afterthe treatment. There was no significant difference between thetwo groups. Conclusion There were statistical differences in the TCM syndrome integral, the LEE scores, the Minnesota score, the improvements of the heart function and NT-proBNP and hs-CRP in the two groups. The difference of the ejection fractions between the two groups was not statistically significant. The result of thetreatment group is better than that of the control group. Shenfu Injection has clinical effect. Its mechanismmay has relat ion with its stronging the heart function and improving myocardial oxygen supply, anti-inflammatory.
