Application Of Chishao And Chuanxiong In Blood Stasis Rats

Hemorheology researches the laws of macro and micro rheology of blood and bloodvessels by the indexes of blood viscosity, deformation and aggregation of red cells, andplatelet aggregation. Abnormal blood rheology could cause the body blood circulationdisorders, especially blood viscosity is the important factor, which its value is mainly affectedby erythrocyte deformability, plasma viscosity, erythrocyte, and other factors. Abnormalblood rheology caused by blood viscosity as the main factor is blood stasis syndrome ofcyclic system in traditional veterinary medicine. Traditional Chinese medicine with activatingblood and removing blood stasis have the effects on activating blood, eliminating stasis anddredge veins. They are mainly used in the treatment of blood stasis.Chuanxiong and Chishao belongs to the common Chinese drugs for promoting bloodcirculation to remove blood stasis. For investigating the functions of activating blood andremoving stasis of Chishao and Chuanxiong, blood stasis rats model as the research object inthis test, these were researched that the effects of Chuanxiong, Chishao and their combinationon the hemorheology and blood lipids in blood stasis model rats,. and whether theircombination had the compatibility synergy. These results could provide theoretical basis forclinical application of traditional Chinese medicine.In this test,50SD rats (200-250g) were randomly chosen to divide into blank controlgroup, model control group, Chishao group, Chuanxiong group and Chishao-Chuanxiongcombination (1:1) group,10rats each group. The rats of Chishao group, Chuanxiong groupand Chishao-Chuanxiong combination (1:1) group were respectively taken the correspondingtraditional Chinese medicine with30mg/kg, while those in blank group and model groupreceived the physiological saline with the same dose. After traditional Chinese medicinepowder was diluted with distilled water, the rats were filled the stomach every day, for10days. After lavage for1h, the rats of the rest groups were injected to abdominal cavity withadrenaline hydrochloride1mg/kg except the blank control group. After24h these wereinjected the same dose adrenaline again. After acute blood stasis model preparation for1h, under anesthesia rats were taken abdominal aorta blood. After anticoagulation treatment, thehemorheology index and lipid index of all samples were tested. The test results obtained wereas follows：1) Compared with the model control group, it significantly decreased that the wholeblood viscosity, the whole blood reduced viscosity, the whole blood relative viscosity,erythrocyte deformation index and erythrocyte aggregation index of Chishao group,Chuanxiong group and their combination group significantly decrease (P<0.01or P<0.05).While their plasma viscosity and erythrocyte had a little change. The results indicated thatChishao, Chuanxiong and their combination had the obvious effect on promoting bloodcirculation to remove blood stasis in blood stasis rats.2) Compared with the model control group, total cholesterol, low-density lipoproteincholesterol of Chishao group and their combination group significantly decreased (P<0.05),while their triglycerides and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol had a little change. Howeverall blood lipid index of Chuanxiong group was not significant difference with that of modelgroup. The results indicated that Chishao single herb and Chishao-Chuanxiong combinationhave certain improvement effect on dyslipidemia in blood stasis rats.3) The combination of Chishao and Chuanxiong had no shown obvious synergy effect inimproving the blood rheology and blood lipid in the model rats. Chishao and Chuanxiong canbe applied in the treatment of stasis syndrome.
