Objective:Root canal therapy has been a conventional technique for pulptitis and periapical periodontitis.The procedures include root canal preparation,disinfection and filling.Root canal preparation is the key to successful treatment,including Ni-Ti rotary instruments and stainless steel hand instruments preparation methods.But in recent years, many scholars find that excessive root canal preparation can result in the possibility of root fracture and cause severe complications. This research,which through review of clinical cases and summary of a randomized controlled trial in vitro, makes preparation on the possibility of root fracture between Ni-Ti instruments and hand stainless steel instruments root canal preparation methods.Methods:Meta analysis will be done for the effect of root fracture of Ni-Ti rotary instruments and stainless steel hand instruments preparation methods.The research target is universal load machine load when root broken.After clear research question, literature research in CNK1and CBMDisc in Chinese paper retrieved1990to2012years, and in Pubmed,CALIS,proquest and web of science in English papers retrieved in all years. And manual retrieval14kinds of Chinese and English oral professional periodicals from2012January to2013March.2reviewers independently in accordance with the inclusion criteria screen literature and extract dada.The Meta analysis of the literature by Revman5.1software, and use CONSORT to evaluate the quality of included studies.Results:8articles met the inclusion criteria.According to Meta-analysis of tooth root bending properties, SMD=0.56,confidence interval,-0.10-1.22;P>0.05,indicated there were instatistically between the two groups. Conclusions:The effects on the fracture resistance of root had no statistical difference with Ni-Ti rotary instruments and stainless steel hand instruments in root canal preparation.
