ObjectiveExplore new method of anastomosis that allogeneic nerves in repair offacial nerve injury by experiment.MethodsCut off the30male New Zealand white rabbits’ buccal branch of the rightfacial nerve to make models that have a1.5cm nerve defects, depending on thedifferent method of anastomosis and the random number table divided therabbits into three groups randomly. the A group is conglutinate byoctylcyanoacrylate, the B group is conglutinate by the silk (10-0), the C group isconglutinate by the silk (10-0) and the adhesive, each group have10rabbits. Toobserve the rabbits’ general state of health and macroscopic observation of thetransplantation nerve nesegment and The detection of the transplantation nervenesegment’s conduction velocity by neuroelectro-physiological method andobservation the transplantation nerve nesegment’s neighboring distal segmentby electron microscope and observe the motor end plate of the upper lip on therabbit right side by stainning method at the12weeks after the surgery, testedthe data by t-test done in SPSS17.0, give a comprehensive evaluation for therepair of the facial nerves. Results12weeks after the surgery, all the three groups of rabbits were living well,the incisions are not infection but healed well all the conditions are similarlyinclude the facial function the appearance and the conglutination of thesurrounding tissue; the nerve conduction velocity of the three group are (55.84±15.57) m/s,(55.79±15.96) m/s,(55.80±16.080) m/s. The statistical of thethree group have no discrepancies (P>0.05) and the operations have similareffects; the number of the myelinated nerve fibers which close to4.0mm of thetransplantations’ stoma end, the statistical of the three group are (18673.62±818.38) n/mm~2,(18511.56±856.45) n/mm~2,(18643.21±882.31) n/mm~2haveno discrepancies (P>0.05) and the operations have similar effects; the numberof the motor end plate of the upper lip on the rabbit right side are (7.38±1.59)n/HP,(7.34±1.29) n/HP,(7.35±1.00) n/HP, the statistical of the threegroup have no discrepancies (P>0.05) and the operations have similar effects;So the method of repair the rabbits’ facial nerves through octylcyanoacrylateand suture by silk have similar effects, but the octylcyanoacrylate have obviousadvantages.ConclusionsRepair the rabbits’ facial nerves through conglutinate allogeneic nerves bythe octylcyanoacrylate can become a new method.
