Objective To investigate the effect of high-flux hemodialysis on insulin resistance and Interleukin-6in diabetic kidney disease patients with maintenance hemodialysis.Methods50diabetic kidney disease patients with maintenance hemodialysis were enrolled and divided randomly into two groups.Patients in each group received either Fx60(high-flux dialyzer) or F7HPS(low-flux dialyzer) as HD dialyser for3months therapy.Blood samples such as fasting blood glucose,hemoglobinAlc, fasting insulin,Interleukin-6,PTH,etc were taken at the start and end of the study.Results1.The level of IL-6,Hs-CRP and HOMA-IR were significantly higher in patients of the high-flux and low-flux groups than those in the normal control group(P<0.01),while there were no difference between the high-flux and low-flux groups(P>0.05).2.Both in the high-flux and low-flux groups,IL-6and Hs-CRP were positivly correlated with HOMA-IR(R=0.648,0.782;R2=0.420,0.611;P<0.01,P<0.01).3.Within the high-flux and low-flux groups,there was no obvious changes(P>0.05) in fasting blood glucose,hemoglobin Ale and kt/v after3months of treatment except significant changes of fasting insulin,HOMA-IR,IL-6and PTH in high-flux group(P<0.05).Conclusions1.The level of IL-6,Hs-CRP and HOMA-IR were generally higher in diabetic kidney disease patients with maintenance hemodialysis than the normal control people.2.In diabetic kidney disease patients with maintenance hemodialysis,both IL-6and Hs-CRP appeared positive correlation with HOMA-IR. 3.For diabetic kidney disease maintenance hemodialysis patients,the high-flux dialyser provide a better effect in insulin resistance and microinflammatory state than the low-flux dialyser in this short-term study.
