Objectives:Under the background of acupuncture in treating migraine, in this study, impacts exerted by puncturing Shaoyang meridian acupoints of migraine patients on the consistency of regional homogeneity and pain-matrix related cerebral regions were observed, central mechanism of acupoints selected along the meridian in treating migraine explored.Methods:1.13cases were included in the study, treated by puncturing GB40, SJ5, and GB34for4weeks,5times a week, totally20times. Headache status was evaluated respectively before treatment,4weeks later, and after treatment. The first4weeks was the observation period and the following4weeks was the treatment period. Therapeutic effects were evaluated by days absent due to headache, VAS, average duration of headache, and MSQ.2. With the analysis of regional consistency differences by adoption of fMRI before and after treatment, impacts exerted by puncturing Shaoyang meridian acupoints of migraine patients on the consistency of pain-matrix related cerebral regions were discussed.Results:1. After the treatment, days absent due to headache, VAS score, and average duration of headache decreased, MSQ increased, which was of statistic significance (p <0.05)2. Regions with increased regional consistency after the treatment:left insula, left amygdale, left hippocampus, left superior temporal cortex, left inferior temporal gyus, left superior parietal lobule, left caudate.Regions with decreased regional consistency after the treatment:bilateral precuneus, bilateral cerebellum, bilateral orbital gyri, left supramarginal gyrus, right temporal pole, right PCC,right MCC.3. Migraine patients find the cerebellum ReHo after acupuncture essential value change and pain with the number of days to influence the work of learning is obviously improve the positive correlation (r=0.567,p=0.043). Back to ReHo value change and the orbit for pain affects the improvement of the number of days to study and work are markedly positive correlation (r=0.595, p=0.032). After ReHo value change and strap pain with the number of days to influence the work of learning is obviously improve the positive correlation (r=0.582, p=0.037).Conclusions:1. Puncturing acupoints along Shaoyang meridian could improve days absent due to headache, VAS, average duration of headache, and MSQ (p<0.05), indicating acupuncture was effective in treating migraine.2. Pain matrix was the key regions for the efficacy of puncturing acupoints along Shaoyang meridian in treating migraine. And acupuncture could regulate the regional consistency of related cerebral regions.
