ObjectiveThe purpose of study is to explore the expression of AKT、mTOR (Protein kinaseB、mammalian target of rapamycin) in gastric cancer and paracancer tissues.By analysis ofthe relationships of AKT、mTOR and clinical pathologic characteristic of gastric cancer, toprovide the reference for the clinical individuation medication and the prognosisjudgement.Materials and MethodsThe expression of p-AKT and p-mTOR were detected in32stomach carcinomatoustissues and20paracancer tissues by immunohistochemistry SP method. All of tissues werecollected from surgical procedures in Tai an Central Hospital from June2011to January2012,which were confirmed by pathology and the data was intact, and analysis of therelationship with the common clinical and pathological factors.ResultsThe positive expression of p-AKT in gastric carcinoma and paracancer tissues was71.9%,25%;The positive expression of p-mTOR in gastric carcinoma and paracancer tissues was62.5%,20%;The expression of p-AKT and p-mTOR in gastric cancer tissues were significantlyincrease-d compared to paracancer tissues (p <0.05);The expression of p-AKT and p-mTOR in gastric cancer were related to the different-tiated degrees of histological tissues(p<0.05),the significant expression of p-AKT and p-mTOR were detected in poorly differentiated adenocarcinoma than high school ones(p<0.05); The expression of p-AKT and p-mTOR in gastric cancer were related to the T, N andM stage (p <0.05).The expression of p-AKT and p-mTOR in gastric cancer were not related to patient’sage, gender, tumor diameter (p>0.05).ConclusionsThe over-expression expression of AKT/mTOR signal pathway decreased graduallyin gastric cancer and paracancer; the expression of p-Akt and p-mTOR in gastric cancerwere positively relative; the expression of AKT/mTOR signal pathway was negativelyassociated with the pathological differentialtion degree. AKT/mTOR signaling pathwayover expressed in the majority of gastric cancer tissues, it may be one of the importantmechanisms in occurrence and the development of gastric cancer.
