PurposeTo observe with the increase of age,the signal intensity of nucleus pulposus and depthof cerebrospinal fluid of L2/L3,L3/L4,L4/L5,L5/S1, to clarify these factors and Lumbarintervertebral disc degeneration (Lumbar intervertebral disc degeneration, IVDD) relation-ship, for early diagnosis, prevention degeneratie Lumbar intervertebral disc of clinicalevidence.Materials and Metheds300patients (18to70years of age) were checked by MRI of lumbar vertebra, bymeasuring signal intensity of the nucleus pulposus and depth of cerebrospinal fluid ofL2/L3,L3/L4,L4/L5,L5/S1, cerebrospinal fluid signal strength, medullary nuclear/cerebrospinal fluid of signal intensity of the signal strength and average cerebrospinal fluidin the average of the nucleus pulposus-signal strength (T2WI) average four aspects, toevaluate of the relationship of the age and lumbar intervertebral disc degeneration. Each group of signal intensity of the nucleus pulposus and depth of cerebrospinalfluid of L2/L3,L3/L4,L4/L5,L5/S1,cerebrospinal fluid signal strength, medullarynuclear/cerebrospinal fluid of signal intensity of the signal strength and average cerebro-spinal fluid in the average of the nucleus pulposus-signal strength (T2WI) average fouraspects and age of the relationship of a chi-square test.Results1.With the increase of age, the signal intensity of the nucleus pulposus ofL2/L3,L3/L4,L4/L5,L5/S1were more and more small.2.With the increase of age, medullary nuclear/cerebrospinal fluid of signal intensity ofL2/L3,L3/L4,L4/L5, L5/S1were more and more small.3.With the increase of age,the cerebrospinal fluid in the average of the nucleus pulposus-signal strength (T2WI) were more and more big.ConclusionsAging are associated with intervertebral disc degeneration. With the increase of age, lumbar intervertebral disc were degenerated.
