Comparison Of Amino Acid Infusion With A Forced-air Warming System For Rewarming Hypothermic Patients Who Without Shivering In PACU

Objective:To investigate whether intravenous infusion of mixed amino acid was effective to treat postoperative hypothermia and how well the treatment effect was when compared with the forced-air warming system.Methods:Forty-five ASA I or II patients aged18-65yrs undergoing elective esophageal or gastric cancer operative under epidural-general anesthesia and whose core temperature were below36°randomly divided into3groups(n=15):group I receive intravenous infusion of mixed amino acid at a rate of2ml/kg.h (A);group II received a forced-air system(B);group III received none therapies(C). Rectal temperature were recorded per5min during1h. ABG was recorded at the beginning and the end of the study.Results:1、Rectal mean temperatures of patients when admitted to the recovery room,TO (℃):Group A35.7±0.4, Group B35.6±0.3and Group C35.7±0.3,P>0.05when compared between groups。2、Rectal mean temperatures of patients at the end of the experiment, T60(℃): Group A36.3±0.3,Group B36.4±0.4and Group C36.1±0.4,P>0.05when compared between groups。3、Compare T60with TO, P<0.05in Group A,B and C。4、Mean Blood Glu of patients when admitted to the recovery room,GluO (mmol.1-1):Group A7.4±2.3, Group B7.3±1.3, Group C7.5±1.6。P>0.05when compared between groups。5、Mean Blood Glu of patients at the end of the experiment, Glu60(mmol.1-1): Group A9.1±2.4, Group B7.6±1.8, Group C7.7±1.5。P<0.05when compare Group A with B and A with C. P>0.05when compared Group B with C.6、Compare Glu60with GluO within groups, P<0.05in Group A, P>0.05in Group BandC.Conclusions:Intravenous infusion of mixed amino acid and the use of forced-air warming system were both ineffective to treat postoperative hypothermia in1hour. Blood Glu will rise when infusing amino acid.
