Complications of type2diabetes mellitus are easy to involvement ofthe heart. The diabetic cardiomyopathy easily causes heart failure, increased patient mortality. Left ventricular ejection fraction usuallymeasurement by M-type or modified Simpson method, but the twotraditional echocardiography easily affected by many factors and poorreproducibility, more important is insensitive to the early heart functionreduced. Area tracking a combination of longitudinal strain andcircumferential strain, make a greatest sensitivity of detection. Areatracking has been confirmed it is highly correlated with LVEF and it canbe detection of cardiac systolic function abnormalities early. Objective: To assess the clinical value and early change of leftventricular systolic function in type2diabetes mellitus patients withnormal left ventricular ejection fraction (LVEF) using area trackMaterials and methods:30type2diabetes mellitus patients withleft ventricular normal geometry (LVN) and normal left ventricularejection fraction (LVEF>50%) and30healthy control subjects wereincluded.3-dimensional real-time full volume were attained from apicalfour chamber views using the PST-25SX probe (Toshiba MedicalSystems,ARTIDA,equipped with the3D wall motion tracking software).Multiplan reformation of the3D real-time full volume datasets weredisplayed in5different cross-sections: apical4-chamber view,apical2-chamber view, and the3standard short-axis views. Analysis the peak of segment ACR and the peak of global ACR, the peak of global LS, thepeak of global CS,the peak of global RS,then compare the differencebetween the diabetic and control groups. Second: analysis the correlationbetween global ACR and LVEF,as well as global LS,global CS,globalRS.Results:1Addition to BP,BL,MAS,AS has no difference between the16segments of the left ventricle, the remaining area of segment area trackingparameters are significant (P <0.05). AA,AL,AI,MP,and BAS are themost significant.2The global ACR significantly reduce in T2DM patients,(P <0.05).There was no significant difference between in the global RS、global CSand global LS.3There has a strong correlation between Area tracking parametersand LVEF (r=0.843),Conclusion:There has been impaired with early left ventricular systolic functionin type2diabetes mellitus patients. Area tracking is a sensitive andobjective parameters, which can assessment of left ventricular systolicfunction effective and it can identify systolic function weakened early.Provided a new method for detecting early changes in cardiac systolicfunction.
