Summarize The Experience Of Sentinel Lymph Node Biopsy In Early-stage Breast Cancer

Object:Summarize the experience of use methylene blue to look for sentinel lymphnode in early-stage brest cancer,and analysis the factors that affect the detections ofSLN.Methods:Collect40patients who came our hospital for the treatment of brest cancerfrom January2012to October2012.All patients are female,from35years old to72years old and average age is46years old. Massage for5minutes after inject themethylene blue.Proceed sentinel lymph node biopsy along the lymphatic vesselswhich become blue,then undergo modified radical mastectomy or breast-conservingsurgery and axillary lymph node dissection.The mammary tissues,SLN and ALN willundergo histopathologic examination.Results:Among the40cases,there are33cases find SLN,16cases with positiveSLN,17cases with positive ALN,1case with false negative SLN.The SLN relevanceratio is82.5%,the sensitivity is94.1%,the accuracy rate is97.2%,the false negativerate is5.9%.There are29patients whose ages are equal to or less than50yearsold.27cases find SLN in the29patients,the relevance ratio is93.1%.There are11patients whose ages are more than50years old.6cases find SLN in the11patients,therelevance ratio is54.5%.There is statistical significance between these two groups.Primary lesions T staging,21cases belong to T1phase and20cases find the SLN,therelevance ratio is95.2%,19cases belong to T2phase and13cases find the SLN,therelevance ratio is68.4%.There is statistical significance between these twogroups.Acording to the histopathological report after surgery,there are ductalcarcinoma34cases and29cases find the SLN,the relevance ratio is85.3%;lobularcarcinoma3cases and2cases find the SLN,the relevance ratio is66.7%;others3cases and2cases find the SLN,the relevance ratio is66.7%. There is no statisticalsignificance among these groups.Conclusion:1、SLN relevance ratio of early-stage brest cancer has a negativecorrelation with patients’ages,the older the patient is the lower the SLN relevance ratio is.2、SLN relevance ratio of early-stage brest cancer has a negative correlationwith primary lesions’ size,the bigger the size is the lower the SLN relevance ratiois.3、There is no relationship between the SLN relevance ratio and the pathologicaltype.
