ObjectiveTo increase rabbit mandible alveolar ridge by using implant-distractiondevice, study the effect of Ipriflavone in the process of distractionosteogenesis and discuss the possible mechanism.Methods40rabbits were divided into two groups of20animals each at randomafter distraction osteogenesis was carried out,and induced with Ipriflavone.Observations were made by inspections, X-ray, histological examination, immunological evaluation of TGF-β1and its average gray value as well asmeasurement of calcium and alkaline phosphatase (ALP) in serum at differentperiods postoperatively.ResultsThe new bone formation, bone metabolic activity, amount of calcium andALP in serum was higher in experimental group than in that of control. Thereare significant differences between experimental group and control group inTGF-β1immunohistochemical stains average gray values, after beingoperated for one day, one week, two weeks and four weeks.ConclusionIn the experiment of distraction osteogenesis in rabbits’ mandible, giveproper Ipriflavone can achieve good bone regeneration, accelerate new boneformation and thus reduce bone healing time.
