Nano Hydroxyapatite (HA) was prepared by chemical precipitation method with thesource of Ca (NO3)24H2O and (NH4)2HPO4.Morphology and chemical composition of thesynthesis HA was analyzed by SEM, XRD and FTIR. The result shows that the nanoparticle was definitely HA.The HA powder was pressed into disks, sintered to1100℃and surface modified bythree different concentrations of silane coupling agent. The modification analysis wasconducted by XRF, XPS, FTIR and contact angle detector. The result shows that surface ofHA was successfully coupled with silane after modification of silane coupling agent.Besides, amount of silane coupled onto HA increased with the concentration of silanecoupling agent. Surface of HA turned to be hydrophobic after modification.SD MSCs were seeded into three different concentrations of surface modified HA forthe study of its biocompatibility. WST method was used to determine cell proliferationcurve. Fluorescence microscope was employed to observe cell morphology. Live/Dead kitwas taken to detect cell viability. The result shows that SCA-HA exhibits goodbiocompatibility since modified HA promotes cell proliferation. Meanwhilebiocompatibility of SCA-HA grows with the concentration of silane coupling agent.
