A Study On The Change Of GLP-2after Colectomy

【Objective】To study the effects of colectomy on GLP-2expression and compare thechange of GLP-2after different colectomy in rats.【Methods】We chose80SD rats of180-250g, and then divided them into four groupsrandomly: control group, sham-operated group, left hemicolectomy group and subtotalcolectomy group. At the time of10,20and30days after operation, all4groups werefurther divided into4subgroups. the serum level of GLP-2was examined by Elisa, theexpression of GLP-2in intestinal segment was tested by immunohistochemistry. In addition,the change of intestinal villus was recorded after paraffin sections and HE staining.【Results】After the intervention of surgery, the level of serum GLP-2in lefthemicolectomy group increased most remarkable. At the same time, the height of intestinalvillus in left hemicolectomy group increased most remarkable. There were no significantchanges of the level of serum GLP-2and the height of intestinal villus in the other threegroups. The highest GLP-2expression in the intestine was noted in left hemicolectomygroup according to the result of immunohistochemistrical staining test.【Conclusions】After certain hemicolectomy, the level of GLP-2has a compensatoryincrease and which promote the hyperplasia of intestinal villus.
