Objective:To investigate the expression of vasohibin in human primary hepatic carcinoma tissues and to eluciadate the relationship with its clinical manifestation. Methods:We collected primary hepatic carcinoma in30specimens and corresponding peri-cancerous samples from Tongji hospital’s department of surgery, The expression of vasohibin in these tissues were tested by immunohistochemical at protein level and RT-PCR at mRNA level. SPSS was used to analysis the correlation of vasohibinl with patient’s clinicopathological data. Results:The rate of positive expression of vasohibinl mRNA and protein were significantly lower in the cancerous samples compared with those in the corresponding peri-cancerous tissues(p<0.05), and vasohibinl was mainly expressed in the cytoplasm of hepatocyte. Its expression level in cancerous tissues associates with lymph node metastasis. Conclusion:The expression of vasohibinl in cancerous tissues and its correlation with lymph node metastasis point out that the low expression of vasohibinl in human hepatocellular carcinoma may play an important role in the metastasis of HCC.
