Association Study Between TNF-α Gene Polymorphism And Chronic Schizophrenia

Objective To determine whether polymorphism in TNF-α gene are associated withschizophrenia. Method TNF-α gene of852patients with schizophrenia were genetyped byusing polymerase chain reaction, and compared with those of519health control subjects.Result The chi-square (χ~2) goodness-of-fit test showed that the genotypic distributions ofthese3SNPs were in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium in the control group (P>0.05).1、Therewas no significant difference between patients with schizophrenia and health control subjectsin genotype frequency at-G308A site. There was a significant difference between2groups ingenotype frequency at-C863A site. There was a significant difference between2groups offemale sample in genotype frequency at-T1031C site;2、The haplotype ofrs1800629(A)-rs1800630(C)、rs1800630(C)-rs1799964(C)、rs1800629(G)-rs1800630(C)-rs1799964(T)、rs1800629(G)-rs1800630(C)-rs1799964(C) and rs1800629(G)-rs1800630(A)-rs1799964(T), have a statistically difference between2groups sample. Conclusions1、Therewas a association between-C863A and-T1031C polymorphism and chronic schizophrenia. Infemale sample,-T1031polymorphism has a association with chronic schizophrenia.2、In allsample, there were some haplotypes may have a association with chronic schizophreniaincluding: rs1800629(A)-rs1800630(C)、rs1800630(C)-rs1799964(C)、rs1800629(G)-rs1800630(C)-rs1799964(T)、rs1800629(G)-rs1800630(C)-rs1799964(C) and rs1800629(G)-rs1800630(A)-rs1799964(T).
