Taizishen(viz.Pseudostellaria heterophylla (Miq.) Pax), the dried root ofPseudostellaria plants of caryophyllaceae family, is a traditional Chinese herbalmedicine in common use, Which is distributed mainly in Jiangsu、Fujian、Anhui andGuizhou provinces and other cultivated areas. The research has been proved out ithad remarkable pharmacological effects such as anti-fatigue、 anti-stress、anti-oxidation、promoting the immune system etc, Becausing of the lacking ofscientific evaluation standard and methods for the quality control of TZS, we took adeep research on the cluster analysis of amino acid contents and the fingerprint studyof P. heterophylla. The results on variety and origin identification of samples couldbe used to evaluate the quality of Radix Pseudostellariae from different regions、provide a valuable reference to quality standards formulation、 developfamousregion drug and guide GAP production.The content of this paper mainly includes the following topics:The analyzing of contents and composition of amino acid by high-speed aminoacid analyzer in different areas of P. heterophylla were described.The contents oftotal16amino acids、 essential amino acids、arginine and other important aminoacids were significantly different.The main sequence of amino acid content wasArg>Glu>Asp> Pro. Based on the contents of total amino acids、essential aminoacids、arginine、glutamic acid、aspartic acid and proline, the quality of S2collectedfrom xuancheng of Anhui province is best, S6collected from shibing of Guizhouprovince is comparably the worst. Combined with region distribution of samples, wefound that clustering results reflect the differences of samples from different originsand the differences between wild and cultivated samples.Except S6, the sample(S5、S7) from Guizhou province and the sample(S1、S13) from the original production were clustered into a class, The quality difference of the samples from the sameorigin which is reflected on the cluster distance showed S10、S12collected fromjurong of JiangSu province is better than S9from the liyang of JiangSu province. Thedifference between S2and the other samples from Anhui procince is obvious.The1H-NMR fingerprint of P. heterophylla was established. The similarity andprincipal component cluster results showed the1H-NMR fingerprint of samples hasgood reproducibility, Wherein, the stable79group characteristic resonance peakscould be used as authentication reference value. In addition, the results of clusteranalysis of7principal components could distinguish between the wild and cultivatedsamples and intuitively reflect the affinities distance relationship of samples from thedifferent origins. The samples collected from Anhui、Fujian and Guizhou proviceswere clustered together,the samples collected from Jiangshu provice were classifiedas a class, in addition, the samples collected from Anhui and Fujian provices werecloser. The similarity calculation results of<sup>1H-NMR fingerprint also gave the sameresult, which means the similarity had deep relationship with origins.The infrared Spectrum Fingerprint of the P. Heterophylla was reported.Themethanol extracts of P. Heterophylla samples were analyzed by using Fouriertransform infrared spectrometer in1800-400cm-1infrared spectral feature. Theinfrared spectrum of cultivated and wild sample showed obvious regional differencein1704.32cm-1、1606.64cm-1、1136cm-1spectral feature.Combing Common andvariation peak ratio dual index sequence analysis, it could accurately figure out thesimilarity and difference of samples from different region. The total samples weredivided into cultured products、commodities and wild product.
