Objective: To investigate the clinical value of the pelvic MRI in thepreoperative staging of endometrial carcinoma, and in the selection of thesurgical method.Method:Collect the41new cases with endometrial carcinoma from Match2011to April2012at Gynecological oncology department in Tumor Hospitalaffiliated of Guangxi Medical University. All patients had performed thepreoperative pelvic MRI examination. To describe the MRI performancecharacteristics of tumors,MRI preoperative staging and finding in assessingmyometrial, cervical and lymph nodes invasion were compared with thepostoperative pathological results.Results:①The accuracy of MRI for the evaluation of endometrialcarcinoma of whole stage Ⅰ,stage Ⅰa,Ⅰb,Ⅱ,Ⅲc,Ⅳa,Ⅳb were85.37%,73.17%,78.05%,95.12%,87.80%,100.00%,97.56%.②The diagnosticsensitivity, specificity and accuracy of MRI on evaluation of tumor infiltrationless than1/2myometrial depth were87.10%,40.00%,75.61%. There were nosignificant difference compared with the results of pathology(P>0.05).③Thesensitivity,specificity and accuracy were66.67%,97.37%,95.12%,respectivelyfor assessing cervical involvement. Compared with the results of pathology, both were statistically significant differences(P<0.05).④The sensitivity andaccuracy of MRI on evaluation of lymph nodes invasion were85.37%,85.37%.Conclusion: There were high diagnostic accuracy of MRI on evaluation ofendometrial carcinoma preoperative staging and finding in assessing myometrial, cervical and lymph nodes invasion. There was high clinical value of MRI onselecting surgical method before operation.
