Objective: By investigating the infection of human papilloma virus (HPV) in Uyghurcouples in Kezbol township of Xinjiang Kashi, provide theory bases for HPV interventionand cervical cancer prevention in Xinjiang Uyghur women. Methods: A population basedcervical cancer screening was done from June15to June302009for430Uyghur couplesin Kezbol township of Xinjiang Kashi, HPV testing on all subjects and all theexperimental data input form and SPSS13.0was used to analysis the data. Results:(1)There are164(13.0%) people were HPV positive among the430couples, the HPVinfection rate were11.86%and26.28%in women and men respectively, HPV infectionhas the statistically significant difference between male and female(P<0.05).(2) In HPVinfection distribution, HPV16was the most prevalent subtype in HPV positive people,and the difference have the statistically significant(P<0.05). The main types of maleinfection were HPV16,58,31and the subtypes of HPV16,58,68were the main types offemale.(3)The difference of HPV infection in430couples, altogether51women wereHPV positive among the430women, the infection rate of matching was54.9%(28/51) incouples, and there was113men were HPV positive among430men, the rate of matchingwas24.78%(28/113), the HPV infection difference in couples have statisticallysignificant(P<0.05).(4)HPV16was the most prevalent subtype in HPV positivecouples(all75%), compared with other types, there are no statistically significantdifference in infection situation(P>0.05), altogether19(67.86%)couples had the sametypes of infection among the28cases of HPV positive couples, including14couples wereHPV16.(5)There are21(12.81%) people have the HPV multiple infections in all positiveperson, including15male(13.38%) from the positive male, and the6female (11.77%)people from the positive women, HPV16was the prevalent subtype in HPV combinationinfections among the multiple infections with the rate of90.48%(19/21). Conclusions:The positive rate of HPV of Uyghur women was lower than that man in Kezbol townshipof Xinjiang Kashi, the most common type was HPV16, The subtypes of HPV16,58,31,68are the main types after HPV16, and the couples have the higer accordance rates in HPV infection, so the Uyghur male maybe play the important role in the press of the Uyghurfemale cervical cancer. It is important that further study of the intervention measures thatmale participate in cervical cancer prevention and treatment.
