Objective: To investigate the relationship between primary bile reflux gastritis(PBRG) and gastroesophageal reflux disease(GERD). Methods:540patients diagnosedGERD were selected as the object of observation.540people without PBRG diagnosedthrough endoscopy were selected as the control group. The incidence rate of GERD inabove groups was compared.132patients with PBRG and GERD were divided throughendoscopy into mild group, moderate group, and severe group. The incidence rate of theinjury of esophageal mucosa and the distribution of GERD symtoms were compared. Results The incidence rate of GERD in PBRG group was higher than that in the controlgroup(24.44%vs9.81%, P<0.05). The incidence rate of the injury of esophageal mucosaincreased with the deepening of PBRG(P<0.05).The different degree of PBRG had thesame distribution of GERD symtoms(P>0.05).Conclusion PBRG has a positivecorrelation with the formation of the reflux esophagitis (RE),PBRG does not seem to playa major role in producing typial GERD symptoms.
