Objective:To study the influence of individualization lymph node dissection in the surgical treatment of advantaged gastric carcinoma.Methods:the clinic date of85patients with advantaged gastric carcinoma who were performed from January2000to June2006in department of general surgery of tongliao city hospital was analyzed.Results:35(41.1%) patients underwent D1dissection and50(58.9%) had D2dissection. The total number of lymph nodes obtained in all cases in the D1group was14.2(13.6±5.6) and in the D2group this figure was24.5(23.3±6.1)(P=0.0274). Metastatic lymph nodes in the Dl group numbered5.1(3.7±2.2) whereas in the D2group there were8.5(3.7±2.2)(P=0.0134). The mortality of D2group was higher than D1group significantly. There was statistically significant difference in survival duration after Dl or D2dissections.Conclusion:D2lymph node dissection might be beneficial for advantaged gastric cancer patients with complications.
