Knee osteoarthritis (KOA) is also called knee Osteoarthropathy, which is a degenerative articular cartilage changes as the core, including bone and synovial involvement, joint capsule and other joint structures of the all-round, multi-level, varying degrees of chronic aseptic inflammation. The disease is more common in people over the age of55, serious impact on the patient’s health and quality of life. The stone needle warming-promotion method is the emerging extend of the traditional warming and ironing therapy. The subject that the clinical study of stone needle warming-promotion method treatment, knee osteoarthritis, is to objectively observe and evaluation the effectiveness and safety of this therapy, and to improve the strong clinical evidence for the stone needle warming-promotion method’s application and extension.THE FIRST PART:DEPART OF LITERATURE REVIEWFirstly, according to the large number of domestic and foreign literature, from the traditional Chinese and Western Medicine on knee osteoarthritis of the understanding and recent treatment of a comprhensive summary. Secondly, reference domestic literature, on the stone needle therapy origin, mechanism, clinical application and for the bone an joint disease treatment experience for a more detailed summary.THE SECOND PART:DEPARTMENT OF CLINICAL STUDYOBJECTIVE:The topic research is to study the clinical curative effect of the stone needle warming-promotion method. Through the clinical study for knee osteoarthrit is to scientifically evaluate. It is efficacy and safety.METHODS:All the cases from China-Japan Friendship Hospital Ministry of health acupuncture and moxibustion out patient department. There are60cases which consistent with the knee osteoarthritis of the diagnostic criteria and the inclusion criteria.According to a randomized controlled clinical trial principle, the samples are randomly divided into two groups. According to1:1ratio, The experiment group30cases, based on the conventional acupuncture treatment using the stone needle warming-promotion method,30cases in the control group, using conventional acupuncture treatment. Two groups were treated for5times each week, for4consecutive weeks. Use the knee pain-visual analog scale (VAS) score as the main outcome measures, with knee osteoarthritis scale for other project score as a secondary outcome measures, and the results were statistically, conclude finally.THE RESEARCH RESULTS:1、The main indicators of efficacy evaluation:knee pain score of VASTwo groups of treatment at4weeks,4weeks follow-up after treatment of knee joint pain VAS score were compared with baseline was Significantly decreased (P<0.01), suggesting that the two groups treatment regimens can significantly relieve the patients’pain of knee joint.Comparison between two groups, the best group decreased score in treatment at4weeks and4weeks follow-up after treatment of knee pain VAS score were significant lower than the control group (P<0.01), shows that stone needle warming-promotion through law relief of knee pain in patients was significantly better than of conventional acupuncture group.2、The secondary efficacy evaluation①The lower leg numbness pain score comparison Two groups were treated for4weeks, after4weeks of follow-up treatment, a lower leg numbness pain score are lower than the baseline significantly decreased (P<0.01),show two regimens significantly relived the patient’s lower leg numbness pain. Comparison between two groups, the test group decreased score in treatment at4weeks and4weeks after treatment were lower leg numbness pain score were significant lower than the control group (P<0.01), and indicated that the stone needle warming-promotion method of remission in patients with leg pain, numbness efficacy was significantly better than that of conventional acupuncture group.②Local muscle stiffness of knee joint score comparison When two groups were treated for4weeks, after4weeks of treatment follow-up local muscle stiffness of knee joint score are lower than the baseline significantly decreased(P<0.01), and indicate that two regimens can relieve patients of knee joint stiffness. Comparison between two groups, the test group decreased score in treatment at4weeks and after4weeks of treatment follow-up were lower leg numbness pain score were significant lower than the control group (P<0.01), and indicate that the stone needle warming-promotion method of remission in patients with knee stiffness was significantly better than that of conventional acupuncture group efficacy.③Patella tenderness score comparisonTwo groups of treatment at4weeks, and4weeks of follow-up after treatment of patella tenderness scores were compared with baseline was significantly decreased (P<0.01), suggesting that the two groups treatment regimens can significantly alleviate the patient’s patella tenderness。 Comparison between groups, the test group decreased score in treatment at4weeks, and4weeks follow-up after treatment of patellar pain score were significant lower than the control group (P<0.01), shows that stone needle warming-promotion method of remission in patients with patellar tenderness efficacy was significantly better than that of conventional acupuncture group.RESULTThe stone needle warming-promotion method through therapy for4weeks, can effective alleviate the patients with knee osteoarthritis knee pain, leg pain and numbness, muscle stiffness and pain symptoms of knee patella.the stone needle warming-promotion method knee osteoarthritis patients related associated symptoms have a certain therapeutic effect,Efficacy can sustained4weeks.The stone needle warming-promotion method for the treatment of osteoarthritis of the knee is safe and feasible.
