Studies On Isolation And Determination Method Of Lignans In Flower Buds Of Magnolia Biondii

Xinyi is dry flower buds of Magnolia biondii Pamp., Magnolia sprengeri Pamp. and Magnolia denudate Desr. which belong to Magnoliaceae Magnolia L.. It is officially listed in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia. The mainstream variety in the market is Magnolia biondii Pamp., secondly for Magnolia sprengeri Pamp.. Magnolia denudate Desr. is rare. Magnolia biondii Pamp. is one of the most popular traditional Chinese medicines, which has been used in the treatment of headache, runny nose etc. In order to provide better basis for quality evaluation, we have studied on the chemical constituents and determination methods of Magnolia biondii Pamp.. Our research results are as follows.1Literature reviewAccording to the objective of the study, we first collected the relevant literatures of Magnolia L.. We also conducted a review relating to the sources, chemical constituents, extracting techniques of volatile oil, pharmacological effects, developments and applications of Magnolia biondii Pamp..2Isolation and identification of lignansThe study first isolated and purified two compounds in flower buds of Magnolia biondii Pamp. using slica gel column chromatography and high-speed counter--current chromatography. The chemical structures of two compounds were identified by electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) and nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy (NMR). They were identified as magnolin and fargesone A, respectively.3Study on the content determination method Magnolin built in as standard, simultaneous determination of three lignans in flower buds of Magnolia biondii Pamp. with multi-components by single marker (QAMS).10batches of Magnolia biondii Pamp. species were determined and measured respectively, using a multi-assessment method and external standard method to determine the content of pinoresinol dimethyl ether and fargesin.
