Objective To evaluate the clinical value of speckle tracking imaging in themeasurement of two-dimensional strain from the left ventricular short-axis view inpatients with myocardial ischemia. Methods This study include twenty-nine patients with myocardial ischemia (stenosisof coronary artery exceed75%) and twenty-eight normal subjects. The all cases were insinus rhythm, rate of60-100/min. Exclusion of cardiac arrhythmias, rheumatic heartdisease, congenital heart disease, various cardiac surgical operation, after pacemaker, after installation; hepatic, pulmonary, renal insufficiency and diabetes mellitus, etc. Theall subjects underwent echocardiography, high frame rate two-dimensional imageswere recorded from the left ventricular short-axis views at the levels of mitral annulus, regional shortening fraction, circumferential strain, peak systolic speed andradial-velocity were measured in the left ventricular short-axis views usingtwo-dimensional strain software.Results1. Circumferential strain curve, regional shortening fraction curve in healthy groupchanged regularly, while in myocardial ischemia patients, the curve changedirregularly. Regional shortening fraction and circumferential strain in myocardial ischemia patients showed significant reduction compared with normal myocardium(P<0.05).2. Peak systolic speed and radial-velocity in myocardial ischemia patients showedsignificant reduction compared with normal myocardium (P<0.05).Conclusions1. Speckle tracking imaging can accurately measure the two-dimensional strain inpatients with myocardial ischemia.2. The diagnose sensitivity of speckle tracking imaging in patients with myocardialischemia is more superior to traditional ordinary echocardiography.
