Abstract:Objective To discuss the clinical effect of less invasive stabilizationsystem(LISS) bone plates and traditional bone plates for proximal tibial fractures. Methods Retrospective analysis from October2008to January2011departmentpatients with fracture of the proximal tibia LISS treatment and the traditional plate onthe clinical data. All cases of fracture AO classification: extra-articular fracture (typerA,)(typer B,) a single condyle fractures and bicondylar fractures (typer C). And thedevelopment of strict inclusion criteria, so that adequate preoperative preparation, thestandard surgical approach, postoperative rehabilitation, and human factors as possibleto exclude the impact of the experimental results.50case with proximal tibial fractureswere treated by LISS(25cases) and traditional bone plates(25cases).The operationtime, incison length amout of operation bleeding and postoperation function of kneewere evaluated.Result50patients were followed up for8~15(13±3.6) months. Incison averagelength ranged8.25cm±1.47cm, operation average time ranged76min±8min andaverage amout of operation bleeding ranged120ml±45ml in LISS group, Incisonaverage length ranged19.16cm±3.8cm, operation average time ranged103min±12minand average amout of operation bleeding ranged350ml±55ml in traditional bone platesgroup.Functional function of Merchant showed that LISS group was excellent in4cases,good in19and fair in2,and the excellent and good rate was23/25, traditionalbone plates group was excellent in3cases,good in18,fair in3and poor in1,and the excellent and good rate was21;25. LISS group were better than traditional bone platesgroup on the incison length, operation time, amout of operation bleeding and kneefunction(P<0.01)Conclusions less invasive stabilization system(LISS) bone plates is good choice fortreating proximal tibial fractures. The operation is minimal, less injury to the softtissue, the recovery of knee joint function is better in LISS group than traditional boneplates group.
