Mechanism Of Nerve Growth Factor Protecting On Nerve Cell In The Hippocampus Of Epileptic Rats Induced By Lithium

Objective To study the expression of BCL-2and BAX in the hippocampus of the seizures rats,and the influence of the nerve growth factor on BCL-2and BAX? The influence of NGF on Superoxide Dismutase(SOD) and malondialdehyde(MDA). Methods First we establish the lithium-pilocarpine induced rat model of acute epilepsy. All of the seizure-induced rats will divide into the normal saline control group, NGF group and seizure-induced group randomly. Then we observe all the seizure-induced rats through Behavioral research. The expression of bcl-2and bax will be evaluated by Western blot. The levels of SOD and MDA are also evaluated. Results Compared with that of saline control group,the expression of bcl-2increases and the expression of bax decreases in the NGF group. Also the expression of SOD increases and the expression of MDA decreases in the NGF group.Conclusion NGF has protective effects on the neurons of hippocampus after epileptic seizure. The possible mechanism of it is that NGF inhibits the neuronal apoptosis and the expressions of the relative protein of Bax and bcl-2in hippocampus of rats.Maybe it have some connections with the expression of SOD and MDA.
