Study About The Relevance Between Th17and Ldh And Clinical Meaning Of High Expression Of Th17Cells And Related Cytokines

Background:Autoimmunity attracts more and more attention because of its influence in the pathologic process and clinical symptom in Lumbar Disc Herniation (LDH) depending on the numerous studies of LDH. Th17,a new lineage of T helper, play an important role in autoimmune and inflammatory diseases by producing a group of distinctive cytokines.Objective:To study the Relationship between Th17and LDH, the influence of Th17on symptom and pain sense of LDH, and the difference of Th17, IL-17, symptom and pain sense between two types of LDH.Methods:We observed51LDH patients who received medical treatment in Qilu hospital from2011.03to2012.02. All patients were divided into two groups:protrusion(Group P) and extrusion(Group E) depending on their imaging and observations during surgery.21normal adults were recruited to be control group (Normal), and5patients with scoliosis to be Immunohistochemistry control group(Group S). VAS was performed after patients’hospitalization and Diagnosis,4ml peripheral blood from every participant were performed by flow cytometry, Immunohistochemical staining and ELISA. Statistical analysis were performed by SPSS.Results:1. Compared with controls, more IL-17positive cells were found in IVD tissue from patients with LDH, The latter had a significantly higher frequency of Th17cells, increased expression of IL-17and PGE2in peripheral circulation, so did the VAS;2. Patients in Group E showed a much more obvious tendency in aggravation of Th17frequency, IL-17concentration, PGE2and VAS than those in Group P.Conclusions:There is an obvious relevance between high expression of Th17Cells and related Cytokines IL-17and LDH. Th17cells, IL-17promote inflammation response, closely related with expression of PGE2and pain sense of patients with LDH. These results may help us to find a new way to control the inflammation in this kind of disease. Th17, IL-17can be developed into a new method in diagnosis of two types of LDH because of their difference in between.
