| Objective To observe the influence of Wubaigao on the model of pigmentation in brown guinea pigs induced by308nm excimer laser and evaluate the clinical effect. Meanwhile to provide a reference for the development of topical Chinese herbal preparation.Methods20brown guinea pigs were induced into pigmentation animal model by308nm excimer laser. The areas of pigmentation were divided into3groups:single matrix cream group,2%hydroquinone group and traditional Chinese medicine Wubaigao group. After treamtment for30days, the efficacy of the three teams were evaluated via skin multifunctional test, CLSM and histopathology. The datas were analyzed by SPSS16.0, and the results were compared between each two groups by using Student t test. P<0.05was considered to be statistically significant.Results Compared with the single matrix cream,2%hydroquinone and Wubaigao could decrease the level of melanin index remarkably (p<0.05), but there was no statistical significance between2%hydroquinone and Wubaigao (p>0.05). Besides2%hydroquinone and Wubaigao could restrain the activity of melanocyte and reduce the production of melanin, but the single matrix cream group changed unobviously. The Wubaigao group showed a few melanin granule in stratum basale and stratum spinosum, the2%hydroquinone group could see melanin granule decreased obviously, but the single matrix cream group still existed amount of melanin granule in pathology.Conclusions308nm excimer laser could successfully induce the model of pigmentation in brown guinea pigs. And Chinese medicine Wubaigao has an obvious improvement effect on pigmentation of guinea pigs induced by308nm excimer laser, it can decrease the melanin index, restrain the activity of melanocyte and reduce the melanin granule. The short-term effect of the Wubaigao is close to the2%hydroquinone, but it has less skin irritation compared with2%hydroquinone. Chinese medicine Wubaigao can lighten the pigmentation safely and effectively. |
