Bacterial diarrhea, caused by various bacteria addition to cholera, dysentery, typhoid, paratyphoid pathogens, a group of common infectious disease as the main manifestations ofdiarrhea,is the main components of infectious diarrhea.Infectious diarrhea with high morbidity and mortality in infants and young children ismostly caused by bacteria, viruses, parasites and other pathogens infecting intestinaltract. It is a group of diseases with high incidence and mostly occurs in summer and autumn,in which the bacterial diarrhea happens in summer mainly, from each of the June to Augustand November to December. Bacterial diarrhea which is the main components of infectiousdiarrhea is a common group of intestinal infectious disease caused by cholera, dysentery, typhoid, paratyphoid pathogeny beyond range of bacteria. The Ministry of Health publishedthat the number of diarrhea cases is836591in2011and11.55%more than2010. Asignificant increase in incidence of infectious diarrhea, is caused by the forces of non-battlecasualties, and can affect the forces of the war service tasks to complete. At the same time,Infectious diarrhea is a common and frequently-occurring disease of our service men in thepeace and War Period. To investigate the epidemiological characteristics of our region’sforces of infectious diarrhea, pathogenic composition and characteristics, We carried outbacterial diarrhea pathogen monitoring in June2009to May2011, the troop’s are stationedin Kunming. The diarrhea cases in the troop’s resident of Kunming Region had beenmonitored by isolation and identification of the pathogen in this study in order to find thecomposition and epidemiological characteristics of the main pathogens,to develop targetedprevention and control, diagnosis and treatment provide a reference of intestinal infectiousdiseases. In this study,1352stool specimens of diarrhea cases in the troop’s resident ofKunming region were collected between June2009to May2011.The all specimens wereidentified by pathogenic isolation, morphological, biochemical and serological detection and bacterial diarrhea etiology. Various pathogenic bacteria strain530were isolated from1352diarrhea cases, and the detectable rate is39.2%(Citrobacter freundii6.14%,Klebsiella pneumoniae5.62%, Proteus4.66%, Shigella55strain4.07%, EIEC25strain1.85%). The pathogen detectable rate is sporadic throughout the year, but detectable ratebetween June to September is higher than other months. The detection rate of different agegroups is between35.51~42.79%, and detection rate of36~45age groups is highest. Thedetectable rate between male and female is’t significant differences(P>0.05).The composition of the major bacterial pathogens and the epidemiologicalcharacteristics of bacterial diarrhea are revealed by diarrhea of pathogenic monitoring in thetroop’s resident of Kunming region, and pathogenic spectrum is established. The result hasprovided an important basis to further the diagnosis of intestinal infectious diseases, epidemiological studies, prevention and control.
