| ObjectiveTo evaluate the clinical value of intraoperative fine needle aspiration biopsy (IFNAB) for pancreatic mass.MethodsThe results of IFNAB of39cases were compared with postoperative pathological examinations and follow-up results.ResultsResults of39cases diagnosed by IFNAB included29cases of pancreatic carcinoma,1case of non-neoplastic lesion and9cases of chronic inflammation. Results obtained by postoperative pathological examination and follow-up showed37cases of pancreatic cancer,2cases of chronic inflammation. With IFNAB, there were8false negative results and no false positive result. The accuracy rate, sensitivity, specificity, false negative rate of IFNAB were separately79.5%,78.4%,100%,21.6%; The accuracy rate for chronic inflammation was20%.ConclusionIFNAB is an important method for diagnosis of pancreatic mass, with the advantages of simplicity of operation, fast drawing material, accurate positioning, fewer complications, and high accuracy. IFNAB shows some false negative rate, so that the benign results should be analyzed comprehensively to select appropriate operations. |
