Experimental Study Of Acoustic Characteristic Of Vowel Aging From6to18Normal Populationin Nanchang

Objective:To study acoustic characterstics of vowel aging from6to18in Nanchangnormal population for research and treatment in cleft palate speechMethods:60Nanchang normal people who aged from6to18was divided intothree groups.Group A:6-12years; Group B:13-15years; Group C:16-18years.Eachgroup including10males and10females.The test material/a/,/i/,/u/, was collectedand analyzed by the first three formant frequency （F₁、F₂、F₃） and fundamentalfrequency （F0） with VS—99computer speech laboratory.Result:（1）The was no significant difference in F₁, F₂, F₃and F0among the threegroups （P>0.05）.（2）Significant difference was demonstrated in F0between male andfemale in both group B and group C （P <0.05）.（3） The was no significant differencein all the measurements in females among the three groups （P>0.05）,but Significantdifference was demonstrated in F0in males among the three groups （P <0.05）.Conclusion: According to the comparison result of F₁, F₂, F₃and F0in Nanchangnormal people who aged from6to18years with the growth of age,there is nosignificant difference in all the measurements in females,but significant differencewas found in male F0after puberty. We should establish different acoustic F0standards due to different sex and age when evaluating cleft palate speech.
