Objective: As the adjuvant treatment of advanced carcinoma of stomach, both chinese medicine and biological therapy can improve the effects after chemoradiotherapy, as well as decrease the subsidiary reaction. Although the similar mechanism of action, the combination of both deserves deep research. Initially investigate the anti-tumor effects of extract of radix actinidiae chinensis by ethanol combining with CIK against gastric cancer cell lines SGC-7901in vitro in order to expound the meaning of combination.Method:Inverted microscope was used to observe morphological changes of SGC-7901gastric cancer cells after added the different amounts of CIK and different density of extract of radix actinidiae chinensis by ethanol respectively after24and48hours. The proliferation inhibition of both against SGC-7901cells were measured by MTT assay respectively. Meanwhile the test was applied to SGC-7901cells which added both of them under some conditions. Using a flow cytometer to detect the apoptosis after above-mentioned steps. Results:Extract of radix actinidiae chinensis, which inhibit the growth of SGC-7901gastric cancer cells,is positive correlation with density and time(p<0.01). CIK has significant ability to kill tumor cells (p<0.01). The anti-tumor effects of combination will be enhanced if the condition is permitted (p<0.05).Both the extract of radix actinidiae chinensis and CIK supernatant can induce apoptosis of gastric cancer cell (p<0.05).However, it shows negatively in CIK themselves and combination.(p>0.05)Conclusion:Under some conditions, the extract of radix actinidiae chinensis, which combines with CIK could show stronger anti-tumor effects against SGC-7901gastric cancer cells in vitro than those added alone.
