Objective: Investigate the correction of left atrial morphology andMalondiadehyde in atrial fibrillation (AF) patients.Meathods: Selected27patients with atrial fibrillation to have a cardiacCT examination,who have a hospitation in2010-2012in the First AffiliatedHospital of Guangxi Medical University, Department of Cardiology. Afteradmission,to measure serum of MDA, SOD content, the measurement of cardiacleft atrial volume and diameter, the area of the left atrial appendage, thediameter and area of opening of the pulmonary vein are also obtained. Allpatients to rule out liver and kidney disease, diabetes and dyslipidemia, a monthbefore admission were not taking antioxidant drugs. Meanwile,selected27healthy subjects undergoing coronary CT as a control group.Results: The diameter and area of the AF group with right superiorpulmonary vein openings, the left inferior pulmonary vein and left superiorpulmonary vein openings is greater than the control group,the differences weresignificant(P﹤0.05);AF group of patients with left atrial diameter, left atrialappendage opening area and diameter greater than the control group,Thedifferences were significant(P﹤0.05);AF group of patients with left atrial volume is less than the control group,The differences were significant(P﹤0.05);MDA levels were significantly increased in the serum of patients withatrial fibrillation, SOD level was lower than the control group. The differenceswere significant(P﹤0.05);Serum MDA level in patients with AF group isrelated to right superior pulmonary vein opening area,the upper left pulmonaryvein opening area, left atrial appendage of the area and left atrial volume,but hasnothing to do with the right superior pulmonary vein openings of diameter, thediameter of the left superior pulmonary vein opening, left room in diameter, thelower leftthe diameter of the pulmonary vein openings and the area.Conclusion: The patients with atrial fibrillation have left atrial morphologychanged significantly, and increased Malondiadehyde levels. Malondiadehydeinvolved in the structure of the left atrial remodeling.
