Objective: To explore the expressions of IFN-γ gene methylation and Chinesemedicine syndrome type between Uygur and Han population in patients with allergicrhinitis in Ili of Xinjiang. Through epidemiology investigation of allergic rhinitis getdistribution rule of Chinese medicine syndrome type. To analysis the correlation betweenserum IL-4, IFN-γ and IgE level and nasal mucosa eosinophilic. Methods: AR patientsand normal group were randomly surveyed from the crowds through allergic rhinitisepidemiological survey in Ili of Xin Jiang. To extract genomic DNA from peripheralvenous blood and modified DNA by bisulfit emodification and adopt methylationspecificity polymerase chain reaction(MSP) for the analysis of methylation state.Throughdouble-antibody Enzyme-linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA),59cases Uygur ARpatients,50patients Han’s AR serum IL-4and IFN-γ levels were analyzed, pathologysmear was observed and nasal smear mucosa eosinophil was counted at high-powermicroscope. Results: The positive rates of IFN-γ gene methylation of Han healthy controlgroup(16.9%)were lower than in Uygur healthy control group(1.7%)(P<0.05). IFN-γhemimethylation rate of Han healthy control group(96.6%) was higher than in Uygurhealthy control group(79.7%)(P<0.01). It not only had no significant diffirences betweenHan AR patients(8.5%) and control group(1.7%) but also between Uygur ARpatients(18.6%) and control group (16.9%) in positive rate of IFN-γ gene methylation(P>0.05). There were no significant diffirences between Uygur AR patients (18.6%) andHan (8.5%) of IFN-γ gene methylation (P>0.05). The highest Chinese Medicine syndrometype of deficiency of lung qi(69.01%),followed by deficiency of spleen qi type(13.22%),syndrome of lung heat(9.51%),syndrome of deficiency of kidney(8.26%). IL-4and IgElevels and nasal eosinophil counts were positively correlated in Xinjiang Uygur and Han population in patients with AR (P<0.01), IFN-γ levels and nasal eosinophil count wasnegatively correlated (P<0.01); Conclusion: The positive rates of IFN-γ genemethylation of Han healthy control group were lower than in Uygur healthy control group,but it had no significant diffirences between AR patients and control group, it will provideus with many benefits to our future research. In Chinese medicine syndrome type,deficiency syndromes in lung type higher than the other three types, Climate andenvironment that have a certain influence on AR. For Uygur and Han people, excesssecretion of serum IL-4, IgE and inhibition secretion of IFN-γ were important factors inallergic rhinitis nasal eosinophil counts production.
