Objective To study the characteristic of etiology and drug resistanceof neonatal sepsis for rational use antibiotics in clinic. Methods To review analysis etiology and drug resistance ofneonatal sepsis in Luzhou Medical College from January in2002toOctober in2011,and compare the characteristic of etiology and drugresistance of neonatal sepsis between first five years and second fiveyears. Results In282blood culture examples, there were133masccline cases, masccline ratio was47.16%. Among pathogenicbacterium, the first etiology was Stapylococcus epidermidis, there wereforty examples and account30.77percent. The second wasStapylococcus haemolyticus and accounts twenty-four examples and18.05percent. The third was Escherichia coli and Stapylococcus aureusand they were all nine examples and account6.77percent. Amongpathogenic bacterium the fungal infection was three examples andaccount2.26percent. The annual infection rate of Stapylococcusepidermidis and Stapylococcus haemolyticus and Escherichia coli in thesecond five years were increased obviously. Gram positive coccus drug resistance to penicillin, Cephazolin, erythrocin, gentamicin andOxazocilline were very high and the rate of the second five years werehigher than that of the first five years. Gram positive coccus drugresistance to Lincomycin, Ciprofloxacin, Levofloxacin, Imipenem andpiperacillin Tazobactam were higher than vancocin and the rate of thesecond five years were higher than that of the first five years. Grampositive coccus drug resistance to vancocin was the lowest in allantibiotics. But there was one example of drug resistance to vanconin inStapylococcus aureus. Gram negative bacilli drug resistance rate topenbritin and Cephazolin was highest. Gram negative bacilli to Imipenemwas hypersensitive in all antibiotics. Conclusion The chief pathogenic bacteria of neonatal septicemia isstaphylococci.Among pathogenic bacterium, the main pathogenic bacteriais CoNS and Stapylococcus epidermidis, and Stapylococcus haemolyticusgoes up. Among gram negative bacilli, the Escherichia coli goes up. Thedrug resistance to bacteria goes up in neonatal sepsis,it is very importantto monitor the drug resistance.
