Objectives: This study aimed to investigate the clinical efficacy on traditionalChinese medicine in Treating peripheral neuropathy of pristine and gerontal diabetic foot, and try to discuss deeply the etiology and pathogenesis of peripheral neuropathy of pristineand gerontal diabetic foot and clarify the efficacy and mechanism of traditional Chinesemedicine by using the theory of TCM.Methods: In establishing the strict diagnostic criteria, inclusion criteria, exclusioncriteria and efficacy of assessment criteria, based on a random, balanced against theprinciple of62patients qualified as subjects32cases were divided into experimental groupgiven Chinese Herbs and external wash treatment;30cases were divided into controlgroup treated with the basis of treatment (diabetes education, exercise therapy, diet control, oral hypoglyceemia drugs or subcutaneous insulin, oral mecobalamin tablets).Above two groups of patients’ symptoms, blood, nerve conduction velocity, fasting plasmaglucose (FPG) and2h postprandial plasma glucose (2hPG).glycosylated hemoglobin (HbA1c), lipid series the super-sensitivity and C-reactive protein (CRP) were observed beforeand after treating between the two groups of patients,4weeks is a course of treatment, witha observation of two courses and a total of8weeks.Results: The total effective rate of the experimental group was86.7%,while the totaleffective rate of the control group was63.33%, the two groups were significantly different(P <0.01). Before treatment, the two group is of no statistical significance on gender, age, duration, they were comparable. the experimental group and the control group can bothimprove the clinical symptoms, nerve conduction velocity, FPG and2hPG, HbA1c, bloodviscosity, lipid series, RP (P <0.01). what`s more, he experimental group can do better thanthe control group in improving clinical symptoms, lower blood viscosity, improve nerveconduction velocity. the two groups were significantly different (P <0.01).Conclusion:Traditional Chinese medicine has a significant and exact effect onperipheral neuropathy of pristine and gerontal diabetic foot and it can effectively alleviatethe clinical symptoms and chemical examination with a high clinical value. And it`s moreeffective than the control group to prevent the further development of the diabetic foo-t in reducing the amputation rate, lowing the economic burden of patients and impro-vingthe quality of lives of patients with far-reaching significance.
