Objective Investigate the hollow compression screw for treatment of femoral neckfractures. Methods A retrospective study from2008January-2011October there were cases offemoral neck fracture, this group of137patients,58were male,79female, age24---63,average43years old. The left hip in64cases, right hip in73cases. The fracture linetype: head type in35cases, after neck type in61cases,41cases of basal type. Gardenclassification:52cases of type Garden1and type Garden2in37cases,35cases of typeGarden3and type Garden4in13cases, all is fresh fracture, admission time:30minutes,4days after injury. Complications:11cases of hypertension, coronary heart disease in3cases,1cases of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease,13cases of diabetes mellitus, old cerebral infarction in4cases,2cases of senile dementia, accept the operationtreated patients in preoperative appropriate drug therapy, correction of concomitantdiseases, improve patients’ tolerance to the operation force of137cases of femoral neckfracture by internal fixation with hollow compression screw for ending line before andafter operation, all cases of hip are lateral X-ray, CT scan combined with hip whennecessary. Investigate the hollow compression screw for treatment of femoral neckfractures, fracture healing rate and the incidence rate of femoral head necrosis. Results Hollow compression screw internal fixation after healing of the fracture theexcellent and good rate was85%. All patients were followed up, time is7~29months,average16±5.9months. Radiographic examination of137cases, the follow-up period of fracture healing in104cases, of which1type Garden, type Garden2in75cases(84%healing rate), type Garden3in23cases (66%healing rate),4type in6cases (46%healing rate). Nonunion of fracture, in type1and type2(14cases of nonunion rate16%), type3(34%in12cases of nonunion rate),4type7cases were healed (nonunionrate53%) P value <0.05was considered statistically significant. All incisions healed inone stage, without infection. Conclusion Hollow compression screw for treatment of femoral neck fractures withoperation short operation time, less bleeding, less injury to tissue, low treatment cost, good clinical effect and other advantages.
