Objective:To analyze the correlation of juveniles’intraocular pressure (IOP) and central corneal thickness (CCT), and to explore the influential factors of the juvenile of CCT and IOP.Methods:Nine hundred and eighty-two eyes of514juveniles(7to18years old) were measured with NT-530P and other devices. Correlation between CCT and IOP with age, height, weight, equivalent spherical degree of juveniles were analyzed by multiple correlation.Results:1. The mean CCT by NT-530P was554.19±35.46um. The mean IOP by NT-530P was15.31±2.57mmHg. There was a significant positive correlation between CCT and IOP(r=0.44, P<0.05). The mean of correction intraocular pressure was15.32±2.38mmHg, there was no significant difference with CCT.2. The height, weight, age and gender were no significant difference with CCT and IOP.3. There was a negative correlation between CCT and refractive error(P<0.05). CCT decreased according to the increasing of refractive error. No relationship was found between IOP and refractive error. Conclusion:CCT is an important factor for the reading of IOP in the juvenile. The height, weight, age and gender were no significant difference with CCT and IOP. CCT will become thicker and thicker as juvenile diopter increases. The measurement of CCT is helpful in evaluating the actual IOP. Objective:To compare the difference between the Non-Contact tomometer/pachymeter NT-530P and Goldmann Tonometer(GAT) and A-mode ultrasonographic Pachymeter for the measurements of intraocular pressure (IOP) and central corneal thickness (CCT), respectively, and to explore the value of NT-530P’s clinical application.Methods:In60eyes of30patients, CCT was measured by NT-530P and ultrasound pachymetry, and IOP was measured by NT-530P and GAT. Each CCT and IOP measurement was compared using Pearson correlation, Pair-t test, and Bland-Altman plots.Results:1. The mean CCT by NT-530P was546.08±34.89um. The mean IOP by NT-530P was14.46±2.50mmHg. There was a statistically significant difference between CCT measurements by two pachymeters(P<0.05). The mean CCT measured by ultrasound pachymetry was538.67±33.04um whereas those by NT-530P. NT-530P overestimated CCT by7.41um when compared with ultrasound pachymetry. There was a statistically significant difference between IOP measurements by two tonometers(P<0.05); IOP measurement was higher by GAT(15.06±2.74mmHg) than by NT-530P. GAT overestimated IOP measurements by0.61mmHg compared with NT-530P.2. Both CCT and IOP measurements were highly correlated among all instruments used in this study.3. The agreements by Bland-Altman method for IOP and CCT measurements by NT-530P were excellent. Conclusion:Although CCT and IOP measurements obtained by NT-530P were reproducible and showed close agreement with ultrasound pachymetry and GAT, careful attention should be paid when comparing its CCT measurement to ultrasound pachymetry or its IOP measurement to GAT as the values may not be interchangeable. NT-530P is a reliable instrument for evaluating CCT and IOP. The critical IOP measured with NT-530P should be re-checked with GAT and ultrasound pachymetry.
