Objective:To investigate the expression and significance of DKK1andβ-catenin in the epiderm of normal skin, seborrheic keratosis, actinickeratosis,Bowen’ s disease and squamous cell carcinoma. And to discussthe relationship between the expression DKK1and β-catenin.Methods:Immunohistochemical staining was applied to detect the expressionof DKK1and β-catenin in paraffinum specimens of19cases of seborrheickeratosis,16cases of actinic keratosis,24cases of Bowen's disease and25cases of cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma,22normal skin specimenswere used for controlling.Results:DKK1expressed in cytoplasm In normal epidermis. The positiveexpression rates of DKK1in SK, AK, BD and SCC were respectively63.16%,50.00%,12.50%,8.00%.β-catenin expressed in cell membrane innormal epidermis. The abnormal expression rates of β-catenin in SK, AK, BD and SCC were respectively15.79%、56.25%、91.67%、96.00%.There is significant negative correlation between the expression of β-cateninand DKK1(r=-0.692,P=0.000).Conclusion:The Wnt signaling pathway may play a important role in the process ofepidermal neoplasms formation. The loss of DKK1may promote theabnormal expression of β-catenin through Wnt signaling pathway.
