Objective:To explore the expressions of tumor metastasis suppressorgene1(KISS-1) and metastasis associated gene1(MTA-1) in invasive andnon-invasive pituitary adenomas, and to analyze their relationship with theinvasiveness of pituitary adenomas. Methods:The expressions of KISS-1and MTA-1proteins in31casesof invasive pituitary adenomas and28cases of non-invasive pituitaryadenomas tissue samples were detected by immunohistochemical SP method, their mRNA expressions were detected by reverse transcription polymerasechain reaction(RT-PCR), and their differences in the invasion andnon-invasive group were analysed.Results:In59pituitary adenoma cases, the expressions of KISS-1protein and mRNA in invasive pituitary adenomas, were lower than that innon-invasive adenomas (X2=4.88, t=12.05,P<0.05), the expressions ofMTA-1protein and mRNA were higher than that in non-invasive group(X2=5.43, t=12.99,P<0.05). respectively, and the difference was significantin statistically. Conclusion: The expressions of downregulated KISS-1andupregulated MTA-1, in Invasive pituitary adenoma, may be closely related tothe invasiveness of pituitary adenomas.
