With the arrival of the social-demographic aging, the number of senile dementia patients increase with the age increases. Dementia usually manifested cognitive deficiency, abnormal behavior and self-loss, and impose a heavy burden to the society and family. Social and family patterns change, the modern concept of "social pension" is gradually replacing the family pension. Today the pension agency is the main form of social pension. Some dementia senile dementia patients are admitted in nursing homes. Due to the complexity and specificity of senile dementia, it is difficulty to care them. These are likely to increase stress on old-age caregivers, affecting their physical and mental health, and affecting the quality of life of the dementia the elderly in their care. Today the researchs of senile dementia caregivers in homes are mainly about their nursing knowledge and the burden. And the research of senile dementia caregivers in nursing homes are about health education. This study is to investigate the stress relevant factors of senile dementia caregivers, and to search for effective decompression measures to promote their physical and mental health.Objective:To understanding the stress relevant factors of senile dementia caregivers, and to search for effective decompression measures to promote their physical and mental health.Methods:1.102senile dementia caregivers were investigated using Stress Questionnaire and self-designed general questionnaire in nursing homes in leading urban area of Chongqing.2. In the period of six months, the senile dementia caregivers in three Non-profit nursing homes were intervened by lectures, panel discussions, follow-up and conversaziones. They were investigated using Stress Questionnaire and Intervention Satisfaction Questionnaire.Results:1. The stress level of senile dementia caregivers are moderate. The score of physical stress was (16.49+4.57), mainly as sleeping affected and fatigue. The score of psychological stress was (14.76+5.97), mainly as state of tension. The score of social pressure score is(24.28+4.21), mainly as little recreational activities and having reduced little time.2. The related factors of caregivers’ stress were age, gender, caring hours.3. After the intervention, the average score of Stress Scale was lower, the difference was statistically significant (t=16.17, p=0.000). Score of physical stress was lower, the difference was statistically significant (t= 15.78, P=0.000). Score of psychological stress was lower, the difference was statistically significant (t=2.56, P=0.010).4.64senile dementia caregivers (100%) felled satisfactory with the Intervention Contents and manner of lectures.61(95.3%) senile dementia caregivers felled satisfactory with Intervention manner.56(87.6%)felled satisfactory with Intervention time.Conclusion:1. The stress level of senile dementia caregivers are moderate.2. The related factors of caregivers’stress are age, gender, caring hours.3. Intervention about nursing knowledge and skills, stress, social support can lower their stress.
