Objective: To investigate the negative pressure wound therapycombined with autograft in the treatment of chronic wounds in the clinicaleffect. Methods: Since June2010to June2011, we adopted the way ofretrospective study to collect97cases of chronic wounds in ourdepartment,27cases of pressure ulcers,15cases of diabetic foot,24casesof burn wounds and31cases of traumatic wounds. All kinds of size ofchronic wound range from2x2.5cm~2to15×20cm~2. All of cases usingnegative pressure wound therapy to prepare wound bed in its early stage, then according to the specific conditions of wound to process as follows:flap transplant had28cases, skin grafts had35cases, direct suture had23cases, giving up treatment and leaving hospital had11cases.Results:28cases of flap transplantation survived, including twocases of flap incision suture appeared wound split, after second suturingaccessed to fully restored.1case emerged partial flap necrosis, aftersecond surgery accessed to fully restored. In35cases of skin graft, there was32cases survived, and3cases emerged necrosis, afterre-transplantation repaired completely. Excellent rate of flaptransplantation was96.4%; excellent rate of skin graft was91.4%.Follow-up all cases from3to12months, all wounds healed, and thefunction were satisfactory. Conclusion: Application of negative pressure wound therapycombined with autograft can eliminate the wound cavity, and promote thehealing of chronic wounds; when using negative pressure wound therapyto prepare chronic wound bed, it can shorten the time of the wound bedpreparation, improve the survival rate of autograft, reduce recurrence rateof the chronic wound, shorten the clinical treatment time, and reducehospitalization funds.
