| Objective To investigate the Correlation of Snail expression with epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT:E-cadherinã€vimentin)in normal breast tissues,adjacent tissues and breast cancer; then evaluate the relationship of Snail and malignant biological Behavior of breast cancer.Methods Immunohistochemistry S-P was used to examine the expressions of Snailã€E-cadherin(epithelial marker)ã€Vimentin (mesenchymal marker)in20cases of normal breast tissues,20cases of adjacent tissues,58cases of breast cancer tissues; then detected the relationship of Snail expression and metastatic axillary lymph nodes, analyzed the connection of3factors and the developmentã€infiltration and metastasis of breast cancer.Resultsâ‘ The expression of Snail in normal breast tissues, adjacent tissues, breast cancer were0%ã€30%ã€53.3%,the positive rates of Vimentin were0%ã€40%ã€63.3%, the positive rates of E-cadherin were100%ã€75%ã€56.7%respectively, with a significant difference among the three groups (P<0.05); the expression of Snail was increased from normal breast tissues, adjacent tissues to breast cancer, the expression of Vimentin was increased too, and the expression of E-cadherin was reduced.â‘¡the correlation of3proteins were:(1) significance positive correlation between Snail expression and Vimentin expression(r=0.536,P=0.000);(2) the negative correlation between Snail expression and E-cadherin expression(r=-0.413,P=0.001);(3) significance negative correlation between E-cadherin expression and Vimentin expression(r=0.526, P=0.000).â‘¢significance correlation between Snail expression and metastatic axillary lymph nodes(p<0.05), that explained there were significance correlation between the higher expression of Snail and the distant metastasis of breast cancer.â‘£There were highly correlation between the Snail and Vimentin with histological grade, lymph node status and cerbB-2and P53(P<0.05), No significant correlation with age, tumor size, ER,PR(P>0.05).Conclusion1.There were highly correlation in increased expression of Snail and Vimentin,reduced expression of E-cadherin from normal breast tissues to breast cancer, invasion and metastasis of breast cancer. The Zinc finger transcription factor Snail had been played an important role in the occurrence and invasion of breast cancer because of its role in induction of EMT;2.There was highly Positive correlation between the expression of Snail and lymph nodes metastasis, That means Zinc finger transcription factor Snail had been played an important role in promotion of lymph nodes metastasis in breast caner.3. The expressions of Snail and Vimentin are closely correlated with histological grade, lymph node status, Positive expression of CerbB-2and Ki-67and having an important role in invasion and metastasis of breast cancer, giving a judgement and the clinical prognosis for help. |
