With the development of medical science and technology and the improvement of medical conditions, the hormone drugs were used more and more widely in clinical medicine. But the excessive use of suchdrugs has inhibition on the endocrine system and organization, then influences on the reproduction anddevelopment system, nervous system, and the immune system. It has great potential hazards to human bodyhealth. At the same time the feces and metabolites also brought great harm to the environment. Thereforehow to determine hormone drugs quickly, simply and sensitively has important significance to studymedical, pharmaceutical and environment. As the second generation flow injection analysis (FIA),sequential injection (SIA) has a lot of superiorities, for example: the hardware system is simple and reliable;it has high automation; analysis process is able to monitor in real time; reagents and sample have lowconsumption: it is low cost: the waste is small. It is a greener analytical procedure. The paper utilizes theadvantages of SIA in procedure analysis to develop new methods for the analysis of three hormone drugs:estradiol valerate, isoprenaline hydrochloride and adrenaline hydrochloride. The major contents are asfollows:1. Estradiol valerate reacted with4-(chlorodiazenyl) benzenesulfonic acid in basic medium and productyellow azo dey. Based on this mechanism, the new method of sequential injection rapidly determination ofestradiol valerate has been established. Different SIA parameter including reaction medium, acidity andreagents concentrations has been optimized. Under optimal conditions, the determination calibration linearrang for determination of estradiol valerate was0.06-14μg/mL, the detection limit was0.04μg/mL. Thesample throughput was33h-1. The total reagent consumption in a procedure was only0.115mL. Thismethod can be multi-channel continuous determination. In the interference experiments, it was not affectedby common ions and pharmaceutical excipients. This method has been used for the determination ofestradiol valerate of water, urine and drugs with the recoveries between95%-104%. Statistical analysisrevealed that there was no significant different from drug labeled amount.2. Through program design, a rapid method was developed for the determination of isoprenalinehydrochloride based on the reaction of isoprenaline hydrochloride with nitroaniline in basic medium. Under the optimum experimental conditions, the linear range of the calibration curve for isoprenalinehydrochloride was0.050-1.0μg/mL and the detection limit of0.03μg/mL was achieved. The samplethroughput was36h-1. The total reagent consumption in a procedure was only0.105mL. The relativestandard deviation was3.0%(0.8μg/mL isoproterenol hydrochloride was used for the determination, n=11). In the interference experiments, the determinations were not affected by common ions andpharmaceutical excipients. This method was used for the determination of isoprenaline hydrochloride ofwater, urine and drugs with the recoveries between96.3%-103%.3. Based on the inhibitory effect of adrenaline hydrochloride on the reaction of Fenton reagent withRhodamine B in acidic medium, a rapid and simple sequential injection spectrophotometric method fordetermination of adrenaline hydrochloride was described. Under the optimum experimental conditions, thelinear range of the calibration curve for adrenaline hydrochloride was0.050-1.0μg/mL and the detectionlimit of0.03μg/mL was achieved. The sample throughput was36h-1. The total reagent consumption in aprocedure was only0.165mL. In the interference experiments, the determinations were not affected bycommon ions and pharmaceutical excipients. This method was used for the determination of adrenalinehydrochloride of water, urine and drugs with the recoveries between96%-103%.
