BackgroundSpleen Deficiency Syndrome is a gastrointestinal disease syndromes, gastrointestinal mucosal protection is one of the main mechanism of the Yiqi Jianpi herbs.Gastrointestinal mucosa protection is main content of traditional Chinese medicine "spleen function", and repair of gastrointestinal mucosal injury is an important material basis of the Yiqi Jianpi herbs in Chinese medicine. Epithelial injury of the gastrointestinal mucosa have the ability to repair itself, generally the first step is cell migration. A important step of mucosal repair is cell migration or not and whether to the injury site in migration from non-injury site. In the process of protection and repair of gastrointestinal mucosa, the polyamine-mediated potassium channel activation signaling pathway plays an important role. Polyamines increase the enhanced K+channel protein expression of K+outflow, leading to hyperpolarization of the membrane, on the contrary, elimination of polyamines inhibits cell migration.Research purposesObserved the effects of Yiqi Jianpi herbs licorice, Codonopsis on IEC-6(intestinal epithelial cells) migration, polyamine content and the effects on cell migration (4-Ap as inhibition durgs).
