Object:Traumatic brain injury is one of the most common causes of limbs disturbance. Nowadays effect of Inosine on Promoting Recovery of Neurological Function Post Traumatic Brain Injury has become a new focus of neurosurgery. In this study we use a traumatic brain injury rat model to certify the curative effect of inosine on brain injury and investigate the mechanism. Methods:We established a rat model of traumatic brain injury and check the functional use of forepaw by limb use dependent test and reaching test. Thus a14d term of inosine treatment was applied to the experimental group. All the rats experienced a28d follow-up. Both the behavior test and BDA tracing technique was used for exploring the curative effect of inosine and its internal mechanismResults:After a14d treatment of inosine we found that the functional use of the affect limb in experimental group were much better than the traumatic brain injury rat without treatment in the control group. BDA tracing technique demonstrated that the synaptic regeneration of the intact neurons around the injury cortex may contribute to the motor recovery.Discussion:Inosine could promote synaptic regeneration of the intact neurons around the injury cortex in the traumatic brain injury rat and let the brain regain the control of the paralyzed limb. It could develop as a new drug for the treatment of central neurologic injury.
