Purpose To investigate the expression of telomerase, CK19and Cx43protein in the HCC, and to gain insight their biological significance in carcinogenesis of HCC.Methods The expression of telomerase,CK19and Cx43protein were determined by tissue microarray and immunohistochemistry(IHC) in272cases of HCC and81cases nocancerous tissue. The relationship between their expression and the clinicopathologic parameters, the survival time of patients were analyzed. The data were analyzed by software SPSS17.0, X2-test and Person correlation test was used, P<0.05was considered as level of a test.Results (1)The positive rates of telomerase, CK19and Cx43in HCC were56.62%(154/272),14.30%(39/272) and32.72%(89/272), the positive expression of telomerase and CK19were higher than the positive expression of nocancerous tissue(p=0.000,0.000), and the positive expression of Cx43was lower than the positive expression of nocancerous tissue(p=0.000).(2)The expression of telomerase in HCC were closely correlate to the survival months with no tumor after operation, the histological grade, the diameter of tumor, the microsatellites, the embolus of cancer in aqueduct or portal vein and TNM clinical stage(x2=14.687ã€10.139ã€3.961ã€4.894ã€13.605ã€12.396, p=0.000ã€0.001ã€0.047ã€0.027ã€0.000ã€0.000), but not to patient’s sex, age, the number of tumor, the invasion liver involucrum,liver cirrhosis, the quantity of AFP in blood, the infection of HBV and lymph node metastasis(all the p>0.05). The expression of CK19in HCC were closely correlate to the survival months with no tumor after operation, the histological grade, the diameter of tumor, liver cirrhosis, the microsatellites, lymph node metastasis and TNM clinical stage(X2=7.204ã€21.340ã€9.246ã€4.484ã€4.638ã€24.764ã€23.080, p=0.007ã€0.000ã€0.002ã€0.034ã€0.031ã€0.000ã€0.000), but not to patient’s sex, age, the number of tumor, the invasion liver involucrum, the quantity of AFP in blood, the infection of HBV and (all the p>0.05). The expression of Cx43in HCC we(?) closely correlate to the patient’s age, the histological grade, the number of tumor, the invasion liver involucrum, lymph node metastasis and the TNM clinical stage(X2=5.869ã€25.211ã€5.499ã€6.658ã€6.640ã€10.397ã€p=0.015ã€0.000ã€0.019ã€0.010ã€0.010ã€0.001), but not to the survival months with no tumor after operation, patient’s sex, the diameter of tumor, liver cirrhosis, the microsatellites, the quantity of AFP in blood, the infection of HBV and the embolus of cancer in aqueduct or portal vein (all the p>0.05).(3) The expression of telomerase and CK19have positive correlation(r=0.191, p=0.001). The expression of telomerase and Cx43have negative correlation(r=0.196, p=0.001). The expression of CK19and Cx43have no correlation(r=0.092, p=0.132).(4)The positive expression of telomerase and CK19 and the negative of Cx43were significance related to short survival with Kaplan-Meier survival analysis. |
