Objective Assess the ingested energy and dietary pattern of metabolic syndrome patients at the region of Yantai in China, investigate and analyse the diet proportion of the three major nutrients and calories, to provide a theoretical basis for the clinical guidance of the metabolic syndrome in patients with diet and prevention of the disease occurred.Methods According to the Chinese Medical Association recommended diagnostic criteria (2004),2000subjects were enrolled in this study, which were using questionnaires, physical examination and biochemical detection methods, diagnosis of MS in512cases and the control group in643cases; the software of alimentary control was applied to calculate the upper and low limit of gross heat budget needed by every patient’s sex, stature, operative strength, to calculate actuality ingested energy and the constituent ratio of three great nutrients by every patient’s ingested foods everyday.Results The total ingested energy in metabolic syndrome patients was higher. The constituent ratio of three great nutrients was unreasonable, the ratio of fat was high and carbohydrate closed to low limit, protein was suitable. Dietary pattern was also unreasonable to higher livestock and poultry, meat, eggs, fats and oils, cereals, fish and shrimp class food intake, vegetables less impressive, the lack of fruit. Meals allocation had been unreasonable, in which breakfast amount was less, and dinner amount more.Conclusion Deficient and excess in which metabolic syndrome patients ingested energy were concomitance. Excess was the main and the fat disease rised. The dietary mode of our country which in orthodox vegetable foods were the main changing to that of western mode in high fat and protein, and animal foodstuff especially were the main.
