Objective:To investigate the vatiations of peripheral blood T lymphocyte subsets and their correlations with level of serum HBV-DNA and liver function in old paitents of chronic hepatitis B and hepatitis B virus carrier; Methods:All subjects were divided into control group consisted of25heathy subjects, hepatitis B virus carrier group consisted of25cases and chronic hepatitis B group consisted of58cases [HBeAg (+):30cases; HBeAg (-):28cases].The levels of peripheral blood CD4+, CD8+and CD3+T lymphocyte were determined by flow cytometry. Meanwhile, the level of serum HBV-DNA and liver function were examined. Results:The percentages of CD8+T lymphocyte and the ratios of CD4+T lymphocyte/CD8+T lymphocyte were statistically differences among the three groups (P<0.05). The percentages of CD8+T lymphocyte were significantly increased in chronic hepatitis B group than those in hepatitis B virus carrier group and control group(P<0.05). The ratios of CD4+T lymphocyte/CD8+T lymphocyte were significantly decreased in chronic hepatitis B group than those in hepatitis B virus carrier group and control group(P<0.05). The percentages of CD4+and CD3+among3groups were no statistically differences (P>0.05).The percentages of CD8+T lymphocyte and the ratios of CD4+T lymphocyte/CD8+T lymphocyte were differences between the hepatitis B virus carrier group and control group, but that did not show differences as conpared (P<0.05). The vatiations of peripheral blood T lymphocyte subsets in old patients of chronic hepatitis B and old hepatitis B virus carrier exhibited no significant relationship with level of serum HBV-DNA and liver function. Conclusion:There is cellular immune disorder in old patients of chronic hepatitis B [HBeAg (+); HBeAg (-)]. The percentages of CD8+T lymphocyte is increased and the ratio of CD4+T lymphocyte to CD8+T lymphocyte is decreased. There were no vatiations in percentages of CD4+and CD3+T lymphocyte; There were no vatiations of peripheral blood T lymphocyte subsets in old hepatitis B virus carrier (There were no vatiations in the percentages of CD8+T lymphocyte、the ratios of CD4+T lymphocyte/CD8+T lymphocyte、percentages of CD4+and CD3+T lymphocyte). The vatiations of peripheral blood T lymphocyte subsets in chronic hepatitis B and hepatitis B virus carrier exhibited no significant relationship with level of serum HBV-DNA and liver function.
