ObjectivesThyroid lesions can occur cystic degeneration. To study the diagnostic value of cystic degeneration in differentiating benign and malignant thyroid lesions. This research project through the relatively benign and malignant lesions of the edge of the cystic degeneration, the size of cystic degeneration, number, distribution, cystic degeneration whether regular and cystic degeneration of the contents of ingredients and a merger of the calcification. Finally the diagnostic value of cystic degeneration in thyroid benign and malignant diseases is statistically evaluated.Methods1.158cases of cystic thyroid placeholder case from January2010to March2012are collected. These lesions are surgically resected and pathologically confirmed, and these cases have the complete CT scan and clinical data.2. Standard patient CT images from at least two independent experienced radiologists read the piece, using the appropriate window width and window level to display the thyroid lesions, and discuss the disagreement, in order to arrive at the consistency of results. Were statistically analyzed by (1) the number of cystic degeneration of the cyst and scope:(1) cystic degeneration in the cyst number and scope:a defined single cyst number>1defined as multiple (2) cystic change the size, scope,(3) wall whether finishing.(4) the intracapsular ingredients CT value (5) cystic whether regular,(6) cystic change of location,(7) with calcification and so on.ResultA total of156cases were included,31were diagnosed as malignant, and125were benign. The cystic change is of different size. The intracapsular density unenhanced CT value. Cystic change of thyroid lesions with calcification. Cystic change within the CT scan density is uniform and the largest cystic thyroid lesions change shape regular or not as a diagnostic criterion:the above-mentioned differences were statistically significant.(P<0.05). Position to the largest Cystic change in thyroid lesions. Clear whether the edge of the Cystic change of thyroid lesions and thyroid lesions Cystic change a single multiple diagnostic criteria:the above areas was no significant difference (p>0.05).ConclusionCT scans in thyroid lesions with Cystic change, Cystic change small cross-section range, the intracapsular CT scan higher density, the capsule due to uniform density, cystic irregular shape, and the merger of calcification.should consider the possibility of thyroid cancer, should be further for biopsy or surgery as soon as possible.
